💡 Reminder

For the current month, the "Actual to date" column shows all bank flows between the first day of the month and the current date (t=0), while the "Forecast" column shows the amounts expected for the whole of the current month, i.e. from the first day to the last.

To make it easier to understand how the "Forecast" column is updated in line with the "Actual to date" column, let's look at an example.

In the sub-category, "Overheads > EDF", I have forecast an outflow of -5000€ (for the whole month).

There are two ways of constructing this forecast:

  1. Formulas (and/or invoice projection) ;

It's the 18th of the month, and a transaction of -€6,000 attributed to the sub-category "Overheads > EDF" has just passed through the bank account.

In this case, how does Fygr update the forecast of €5,000, given that it is lower (in absolute terms) than the actual figure when the month isn't even over? There are two possibilities, depending on the method chosen to construct the forecast:

  1. The forecast was constructed using a formula.
    In this case, the forecast expected at the end of the month is automatically adjusted and aligned with the actual amount.

    Before the €6,000 transaction arrived

    After the arrival of the €6,000 transaction

  2. The forecast was constructed by entering a target.

    In this case, the amount entered remains fixed, even if it is less (in absolute terms) than the amount realised to date.

💡 Why?

Fygr offers the flexibility to mix positive and negative flows within the same sub-category (example: you can include repayment flows, which are negative, within your revenue). As a result, it is possible for the end-of-month landing to be lower than the actual to date, if a transaction with the opposite sign to the current sub-total arrives between now and the end of the month.

In our example, despite the appearance of the transaction of -€6000 in the "Actual to date" column, Fygr considers that it is still possible for positive transactions to adjust this amount to obtain a final amount of -5K before the end of the month.

👉 What should I do?

  • If the amount of -€6,000 is the final amount expected for the current month for the "EDF" line, you can readjust the forecast in one click, by clicking on the red bin icon at the top right of the cell concerned ;

  • If you wish to enter another amount, you can adjust your formula, or enter the desired target in the cell.
